Karthikeyan Varadarajan is a seasoned automotive technology leader with over 40+ years of experience driving innovation, digital transformation, and technology adoption in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. His expertise lies in enabling organizations to enhance product development, engineering, and manufacturing processes through advanced automotive solutions.
Early in his career, Karthikeyan spent 10 years at Ashok Leyland, gaining hands-on experience across engineering, manufacturing, and product development projects, followed by a brief tenure at BPL Ltd. He has been with EDS Technologies for over 30 years, where he has shaped the company’s technology strategy and guided automotive clients in implementing end-to-end digital transformation initiatives.
At EDS Technologies, Karthikeyan has partnered with hundreds of automotive suppliers and OEMs to modernize their digital engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain capabilities. He has been instrumental in building advanced competencies and leading engagements across automotive-focused technologies such as 3DEXPERIENCE, ENOVIA, DELMIA digital manufacturing, robotics, SAP, and EOS 3D printing. As Chief Technology Officer, he mentors teams across pre-sales, post-sales, and custom application development, ensuring high-quality solutions for the automotive industry.
Karthikeyan has been an active member of the BCIC Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 Expert Committee for the past 10 years and also contributes to MCCI (Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry). He serves as Co-Chair of the Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 Expert Committee, providing strategic direction for automotive policy adoption, and drives industry-academia collaborations to prepare future professionals for the digital and connected automotive ecosystem.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Salem, and an MBA from Bharathidasan University.
