Growing ambitiously with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform

Florida-based lowboy trailer manufacturer Globe Trailers has set an ambitious goal to grow and diversify its product range to a point where the medium-sized company could expand internationally. Globe Trailers’ main asset is a strong and loyal customer base cultivated by its high-quality product offering. The company offers trailers that only need half the time to detach and reattach, compared to its competitor’s products. To meet Globe Trailers’ plan to double its year-over-year production volumes, it is turning to a powerful platform solution for extra support.

While the company’s trailer production is centered in its state-of-the-art facility in Florida, its engineering team is international to make use of the best of the best. However, it is not an easy task to enable global collaboration. In the past, Globe Trailers engineers exported analyses, transferred large files and then their colleagues would import them, which was a lengthy process.

Using Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Globe Trailers manages to facilitate global collaboration and increase time to market. Its engineer can open up an assembly, perform design markups, and a colleague quickly knows what to do. There might be up to three engineers working on that particular assembly, but by using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform it’s more like three brains working on one project.
In addition, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform helps Globe Trailers to manage data on the cloud, reducing the need for knowledge transfer. All the apps are in a central location so engineers can work instantly anywhere, saving a lot of work time. With the integrated system, switching between powerful tools is easy, and all the information and functionality is there at Globe Trailers disposal.

Using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud, Globe Trailers’ engineering team can collaborate globally to make stronger, safer and more reliable trailers than anyone else. In five years, Globe Trailers hopes to develop a much larger and more diverse product range, as well as a larger manufacturing footprint expanding across states and countries.
