Digitalization transforms the innovation process into a proactive agent in driving new business opportunities, enabling manufacturers to weave a “digital thread” through three distinct phases:

• Realization: including production planning, production engineering, factory automation and production execution systems

The objective of this session organized by CII was to discuss on the relevance of Digital Manufacturing. There were several eminent speakers who presented in this session. EDS Technologies, a member of Operational & Manufacturing Excellence Panel of CII and along with Dassault Systemes were present in this forum. Kiran Divekar, Director – Manufacturing Applications, Dassault Systemes spoke on the changing paradigm of manufacturing strategy with companies focusing on Flexibility, Agility and Predictability of Operations. He also spoke on the software solution from Dassault Systemes for Digital Manufacturing – DELMIA – and how it is enabling plants of the future to be more compact, economical, more flexible and agile.
