EDS Technologies organised one day workshop on "Domain Knowledge Augmentation in Mechanical Engineering" in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) & Department of Mechanical Engineering, Ballari Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), Bellary on 6th May 2014
The objective of the program is to propagate the information about the knowledge and skill requirements of the Industry to the academicians. The knowledge transfer in turn will facilitate in churning better equipped, employable Engineering Graduates. Mr. Avinash Kulkarni from Confederation of Indian Industry, Mr. Dasarathi, Director-CADEM Technologies, Mr. N. Venkatesan, Assistant Manager, Quality from TaeguTec India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Sridhar Gatpa, Principal- Talent Acquisition Fulfillment Function (TAFF) from Infosys were the eminent speakers of the workshop.
Mr. Prithviraj, Trustee and Deputy Director-BITM, Mr. Avinash Kulkarni, Convenor - Affirmative Action Panel, CII Karnataka and Mr. Ravikumar K V, National Manager Technical Training - EDS Technologies participated in the inauguration of the One day Workshop. Mr. Prithviraj exhorted the participants to be proactive in getting familiarized about the industry trends so that they can mould the engineering graduates as per industry requirements. Mr.Avinash Kulkarni explained about different activities of CII and efforts in bridging the gap between industry and academia and their support towards the educational institutions. Mr.Ravikumar explained about the importance of value added courses, skill enhancement for the students to increase the Employability quotient of budding engineers.

The workshop was attended by around 40 attendees which includes Professors, Assistant Professors and Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering from the Engineering colleges in and around Bellary. |
