15 th February 2010, Thiruvanathapuram - Mar Baselios College of Engineering & Technology (MBCET) has started a state of art PLM Centre of Excellence in its Engineering College Campus at Trivandrum. The Center was inaugurated by Aaditya Vidyarthi, Manager - Education & Research, Dassault Systemes India Pvt. Ltd, on Feb 15, 2010. The PLM center would be headed by Dr. Pradeep George, MBCET. Besides the software skills, the students pursuing this curriculum will develop skills in manufacturing processes and methods of 21 st Century that are prevalent in the industries worldwide. In a very structured method, the students while developing their skills in modern manufacturing methods will also get opportunities to apply them in context to various industrial scenarios.

MBCET could gather a lot of inspiration to start this centre by understanding the shortage of skilled workforce in the manufacturing and engineering sector in India.
