Multiple positions of imported surface in new PART/BODY

In automotive design, Class “A”surface or customer given surface is very important to design any exterior or visible part. Generally we use customer given surface for our design work, which may not have history or other S/W designed surface. Also we can’t move those surfaces from where it is placed.

While working on the same, if we need to move the surface form one place to another, we may follow the below mentioned steps.
We can use axis to axis transformation command. (Axis To Axis icon .)

Before that, create a new axis for the surface and make the axis as active. Also we have to create second axis where the surface has to be positioned. Second axis can be placed over the new point (Point can be moved based on the co-ordinate system).

Now we can use the axis to axis command to position the surface from present position to new position.

This will be helpful while moving the body or part. Surface could also be moved along with the body or part.
