EDS Technologies Pvt. Ltd (EDST), India’s largest Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Solutions and 3D Visual Simulation provider, announced the signing up of MoU with PSG College of Technology (PSG Tech) to start a Finishing School in Coimbatore.
The school will be targeted towards students in the pre-final and final years of mechanical and manufacturing engineering from engineering colleges/institutes, unemployed students as well as working professionals seeking a change in career to PLM and corporates looking at training their employees.
Bringing forth the need for such a course and school, Senthil, President, EDS Technologies Pvt. Ltd. said, “The perfect blend of theoretical knowledge, practical applications and “hands-on experience” of the theoretical concepts within the industry is the need of the hour. The Finishing School focuses on providing industry-specific technical training in CATIA V5 PLM tools in order to scale up the employability levels of engineering graduates. This will make them productive from the day one.”

The students would be certified by EDS Technologies Pvt. Ltd and PSG College of Technology.
The programme includes a curriculum that comprehensively covers the concepts and advanced features of PLM tools that enable conceptual and detailed designing, besides manufacturing design, resulting in state-of-art knowledge based solutions. Training will be provided in modules such as Sketching, Part Designing, Drafting, Assembly, Surface Modelling, etc. The Finishing School also offers placement assistance to students undergoing this training.
The company plans to train around 300 students in the year 2008-2009.
