Based on open, commercial standards, Aeria brings together all Presagis software into a flexible, unified workflow for the creation of next-generation land, air, and sea applications.

About the name:
The goal of Aeria is to help communicate the value of our product portfolio as an integrated whole - as opposed to simply focusing on our point products.

• The name denotes an open space, a location to meet, ground based location. This is in support of the simulation/virtual areas built by our customers.
• The name equally addresses land-, sea- and air-based simulation
• Derived from the Latin word "Aero" which means air, the name communicates an aerospace connection as well as an openness, easy accessibility, and expansiveness of our product portfolio.

Absolutely, Aeria does not change the way Presagis sells its software or services.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WORKING IN AERIA?
There are extensive benefits to working in Aeria. For instance, within Aeria, you can still develop applications using the same databases that you used in the past. Or, if you choose, you can either use CDB for specific needs in conjunction with your existing databases or move completely to CDB to use this new and powerful solution to customize your workflow and develop cutting edge applications.

WHEN WILL CUSTOMERS BE ABLE TO BENEFIT FROM AERIA?
Customers can begin to benefit from Aeria today. In May 2008 Presagis began releasing versions of their products that include initial integration.

I CAN ALREADY MOVE MY DATABASES FROM ONE PRESAGIS PRODUCT TO ANOTHER. HOW IS AERIA DIFFERENT?
Aeria offers unique advantages not available to customers today. Within Aeria, you will not need to move your database. Presagis products in Aeria will all leverage the same Common Database (CDB) which will contain all of the data required to run your applications across the entire M&S workflow.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING CDB?
As the key enabling technology behind Aeria, CDB ensures the complete integration between all Presagis tools and 3rd party applications and the reusability of data across multiple projects. Drawing directly from the CDB in real-time, Aeria allows you to seamlessly build simulation scenarios using STAGE Scenario and AI.implant and to add photorealistic graphical interfaces to the simulation using VAPS XT. Then, you can interact with the simulation at runtime to modify, capture, pause, restart, or gather data when the action is occurring and make immediate adjustments in a seamless way.

MOVING FORWARD, DO I NEED TO STANDARDIZE MY DEVELOPMENT AND MY WORKFLOW ON CDB IN ORDER TO WORK IN AERIA?
No, you do not have to standardize on CDB to take advantage of Aeria. Aeria also supports leading industry standards, including all major simulation and communication standards, Open Flight, Terrapage, OTF, CTDB, JCATS, and the GIS data format. In addition, all Aeria applications are interoperable out-of-the-box either through DIS or HLA. You can also integrate 3rd party products with a larger variety of networks (even rare proprietary specific protocols) using Presagis SIM OneNet.
