Dear Customers and Partners,
We are pleased to announce that OptisWorks 2014 is now available!
This new version includes Photometric targets created in the sensor allowing for faster simulations enhancing users productivity.
The usability has been enhanced with source intensity diagrams and simulation intensity results visualization in SolidWorks 3D environment, making it faster to setup your optical system and review its performances.
We really hope you will enjoy this new version of OptisWorks.
If you have any questions, please contact your local Optis subsidiary.

Improvements in illuminance simulation
Direct 2D Illuminance simulation makes illumination characterization easier.
User can get illuminance maps of any lighting system output in very few seconds without the noise generated by Monte Carlo propagation.
Street lighting validation scene 34 luminaires
Direct simulation 25 millions rays,1 minute 30s, noise on result
Direct 2D illuminance simulation 10 secondes, no noise
Productivity & Ergonomics Measure template
Users save time when making the same measurements on simulation results by associating measure templates directly to sensors.
Templates offer direct access to standard measurements.
Productivity & Ergonomics Measure template
Users can easily check the fulfillment of measures against regulation standards or User Defined specifications.
Rules allow the ability to test measures against defined targets.
Rule results can be reviewed in the simulation report.
Give flexibility to your optimization
Users can determine when an optimization process should end using the new termination criteria:
- Consecutive simulations with improvements according to a defined improvement percentage
- Maximum time
- Maximum number of simulations These criteria can be used together or individually
Keep track of your optimization / tolerancing intermediate results
The best optimization result may not always be the compromise between the parameters.
Analysis can be completed following the outcome of a Tolerancing study.
Users can choose to keep intermediate results in a folder located in the Output directory.
Usability enhancements
Users can set and orientate the intensity library file of sources thanks to the diagram visualization in the 3D environment of SolidWorks.
This improvement provides additional visual information regarding the source.
Usability enhancements
The first analysis step is made easy with the visualization of intensity results in the 3D environment of SolidWorks.
Users can perform a qualitative examination of simulation results. Allowing further understanding and review before moving into Virtual Photometric Lab to make quantitative measurements.
Overall this saves time during the iterative process.

Usability enhancements
The new sensor resolution parameters provide information regarding the sensor’s pixel size.
This additional information makes it easier to re-size the sensor resolution if necessary.
Direct access to Optical properties information
Users avoid the tree navigation using the Optical properties contextual menu.
Users have direct access to useful information regarding a part’s face, selecting it in the 3D view.
Updates
Numerous improvements & updates have been implemented ! A full outline is available on your OptisWorks 2014 Help documentation guide via the OPTIS portal.
